- Q. Please tell us what you think about Blythe. What makes you attracted to Blythe?
- A. My first encounter with Blythe was when I read "BLYTHE STYLE"... that instant, I was struck by her appearance, and knew that she matched the Jane Marple style and philosophy so perfectly.
I think Blythe is the one and only doll that can be transformed into anything we want, regardless owners' age, nationality and gender.
- Q. Please tell us the concept for Neo and Petite Blythe "Bloomy Bloomsbury".
- A. We designed the girls inspired by the Bloomsbury Group whom lived in London in 20th century that influenced literature and culture today. They adore Bloomsbury culture, and have intelligence, emotion and humor.
- Q. You have a long relationship with Blythe events oriented by CWC and created a lot of custom dolls before. How was it like to design the product this time? Please tell us which part you put the most thought into?
- A. We tried to express gracefulness and intelligence that Blythe originally has, in addition to Jane Marple's style of creating things. We strained to find the right fabric and take care of every detail. For example, for Jane Marple original fabric used for dress top and gloves, we remade the tartan patten specially for Blythe size, and for the skirt a lot of tulles are sewed to make a beautiful depth and shadow to it. We selected the fabric for the envelop motif on her hip to make it looks like an oil paper envelope.
We also carefully chose the background for the shooting so the dolls have a complete look and story.
- Q. What did you think of making a doll because you usually design clothes and accessories?
- A. Like I said above, not only designing clothes and accessories but also the doll itself and atmosphere of the doll realize us the essence and importance of creating things.
- Q. What did you think of the finished dolls?
- A. They are so fantastic! I am very happy that they turned to exactly the way I imagined.
- Q. Do you have any messages for the Blythe fans and Jane Marple fans?
- A. What do you think about the collaboration with Blythe and Jane Marple? We all hope you feel our world view and philosophy through this doll. And we hope our doll beings happiness and joy. Last but not least, we truly thank all of the people who participated in the making "Bloomy Bloomsbury." Thank you very much.
